WINE DESCRIPTION
Virgil's Vineyard The Smuggler's Son is a jammy red blend with grapes sourced from all over California. The wine is mostly composed of Zinfandel with a proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Syrah making up the remainder of the blend. The grapes are harvested and vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats before being blended and aged for a period of around 18 months in oak barrels prior to bottling.

Virgil's Vineyard The Smuggler's Son has a deep purple hue and presents a wide array of ripe black fruits, such as dark cherries, plums and blackberries accompanied by subtle hints of spice and licorice.Upon tasting, the wine reveals a well-balanced structure with ripe plush tannins and a full body. The flavors of black fruits continue to shine, with additional notes of chocolate and star anise adding depth and complexity. The finish is moderate in length, leaving an impression of jammy fruit and exotic spice.
