WINE DESCRIPTION
In 1992, Jean-Claude Bessin and his wife Evelyne assumed control of Evelyne's family vineyards, initiating a transformation of the estate. While the family had cultivated grapes in Chablis since the 19th century, the wines were previously produced at a cooperative. Jean-Claude Bessin's cellar is located beneath the church in La Chapelle Vaupelteigne, north of Chablis. Spanning 12 hectares, Bessin crafts two Chablis village wines, four Chablis 1er Cru wines, including a special cuvée from Fourchaume known as La Pièce au Comte, and a sought-after Valmur Grand Cru. Today, Romain, their son, collaborates with his father in both the vineyards and the cellar.
