Wine Description:
Domaine des Roches Neuves, situated 5 km south of Saumur along the Loire in Varrains, boasts 26 hectares primarily planted with Cabernet Franc and noteworthy Chenin Blanc. Winemaker Thierry Germain, originally from a Bordeaux winemaking family, founded the estate in 1993, shifting to the Loire for its dynamic terroir. Germain employs biodynamic practices, emphasizing a "living" vineyard with minimal soil intervention and yields capped between 15 to 30 hectoliters per hectare. His meticulous approach results in wines of overwhelming aroma and surprisingly low alcohol. The estate's cellar houses a diverse range of vessels, contributing to Germain's unique and exceptional creations.
