Wine Description:
The family of exceptional wines. Domaine de la Vougeraie, although relatively young, was established in 1999 by the Boisset family. Nevertheless, the estate manages some of the most renowned vineyards in Burgundy, nestled in the heart of the Côte d'Or. These include prestigious sites like Charmes-Chambertin, Bonnes Mares, Clos Vougeot, among many others. The family gradually acquired these globally sought-after Premier and Grand Cru parcels over the years, even before the winery's inception. Since 1999, they have been practicing organic viticulture, and in recent years, in collaboration with winemaker Pierre Vincent, they've embarked on biodynamic farming for a significant portion of the vineyards. This philosophy aligns perfectly with Burgundy's essence, a region where terroir plays an unrivaled role. We highly appreciate the estate's style, which masterfully balances Burgundian authenticity (without austerity) with an approachable modernity.

This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes, which are known for producing elegant and complex wines. On the nose, you can expect a bouquet of red fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, accompanied by subtle floral notes and hints of earthiness. On the palate, this wine offers a harmonious balance between fruitiness, acidity, and tannins. The red fruit flavors continue to shine, with additional layers of spice, forest floor, and a touch of minerality. The tannins are typically well-integrated, providing structure and a silky texture to the wine. Domaine de la Vougeraie Gevrey-Chambertin is known for its excellent aging potential. With proper cellaring, this wine can develop further complexity and tertiary aromas of dried fruits, leather, and truffles over time. Its versatility allows it to complement a wide range of flavors and textures.

Daughter of esteemed vignerons Anne-Françoise Gros of Vosne-Romanée and Pommard’s François Parent, Caroline represents the 15th generation in winemaking. Their wines are crafted at the family’s Beaune facility, which was renovated in 1998 to consolidate their production from three separate cellars.
