Petrilli
Wine that defies expectations, with a sense of curiosity and excitement that's hard to shake. From a small, yet consistent, producer, this wine is a true gem. I'm not looking back on my own life, but rather, I'm drawn to its richness and depth. Decanting is a matter of personal preference, but once opened, it reveals a rich, silky tactile quality and a subtle, yet satisfying, equilibrium of flavors. The nose is a masterclass in nuance, with nuances of blackberry, cerise, and framboise, alongside a touch of soft bell pepper, coffee, and intense chocolate caramel. Undergrowth adds a subtle, yet intriguing, dimension. This is a wine that will evolve over time, and one that I'm eager to revisit in the future. A true standout.
