This 2.52-hectare estate in Saint-Émilion, situated mainly on clayey soils at the base of the slope, has been owned by Gérard and Dominique Bécot (Beau-Séjour-Bécot) since 1995. The vineyard represents the former enclosure of the Priory of the Fayse Abbey, which included the Manoir de la Gomerie. The wine produced at Château La Gomerie is a pure Merlot, sourced from sandy soils with predominantly clay and iron grus subsoils, along with the limestone plateau with asteriated limestone of Beau-Séjour Bécot. This micro-cuvée is crafted by the teams of Château Beau-Séjour Bécot with the guidance of oenologist Michel Rolland, following the principles of "garage wines." The nearly 40-year-old vines are meticulously tended, yields strictly controlled, and harvest delayed as long as possible. The wine is aged for 20 months in new barrels, and its second wine is Mademoiselle La Gomerie. Due to its limited production and the praise it receives for its opulent and silky character, this cuvée is nearly impossible to find on the French market.
