Crisp and crisp wine with a dry finish, showcasing a nuanced apple and citrus character on the palate.

We acquired this wine for our wedding two years ago and enjoyed it on our second wedding anniversary, December 11th. It presented itself nicely, with a clean mouse and small, mild bubbles, which I consider a positive aspect. The harmony of peach, citrus, and cream was well-suited to my taste.

A pleasantly bitter and on the whole mild wine, with a smooth finish.

What the web is saying

Veuve Devienne Brut receives mixed feedback, praised for its crisp citrus and green apple notes, balanced acidity, and smooth finish. While many enjoy its peach undertones and refreshing character, some find it unremarkable or disappointing in mixed drinks. Reviews highlight its suitability for celebrations but note variability in flavor intensity.

Voss Experts4.3

Veuve Devienne Brut presents a pale straw hue with fine, persistent bubbles, indicative of its meticulous méthode traditionnelle production. The nose is an elegant interplay of green apple, pear, and subtle brioche aromas, underscored by a delicate floral note. On the palate, it reveals a crisp, lively acidity that harmonizes with its creamy mousse, offering flavors of citrus zest and white peach. The finish is clean and refreshing, with a hint of minerality that lingers gracefully. This sparkling wine exemplifies finesse and balance, making it a commendable choice for both aperitif and pairing with light seafood dishes.
