Wine Description:
Sutherland Pinot Noir is a distinguished offering from Thelema Mountain Vineyards, nestled in the Elgin region of South Africa. Crafted exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from vines planted in 2006, its distinct character is rooted in the unique terroir of Tukulu and Glenrosa soils. What sets this wine apart is its meticulous winemaking process: a significant portion of whole berries undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks with twice-daily punch downs until dry, followed by nine months of maturation in oak barrels—15% new French oak and the remainder in 3rd and 4th fill barrels. This approach yields a refined Pinot Noir with a balanced interplay of fruitiness and oak influence, showcasing the elegance and complexity for which Elgin wines are renowned.

The White Knight Sauvignon Blanc is a refreshing, pure, unoaked and varietally-expressive dry white hailing from Lodi. After harvesting and pressing the grapes, the wine is fermented in inert vessels to retain fruit purity and the delicate aromatics. The wine is aged for a short period in inert vessels prior to release as the winemaker is seeking to retain vibrancy of fruit without imparting oak spice or masking the pure varietal character.
