Castelvecchi Lodolaio Chianti Classico Riserva is made from Sangiovese grapes grown at 500-600 Mt of altitude. This reserva quality level comes from a careful selection of the grapes, which were collected as late as possible to maximize the ripening of the bunches to produce an intensely flavored wine. In cellar skin contact lasts for more than 30 days to fully extract the tannins and flavors required to create an age-worthy style. The wine ages for 12 months in new oak barrique to gain aromas of sweet baking spices. It spends a further two years in inert vessel before spending another year in a bottle until it is released.
