Wine Description:
Domaine Marc Roy Cuvée Alexandrine Gevrey-Chambertin embodies the pinnacle of meticulous viticulture and winemaking excellence. Under the careful stewardship of Alexandrine Roy, this cuvée showcases deep, robust, and refined wines, perpetuating a family legacy rooted in soil-centric practices. Since her arrival in 2003, the domaine has continuously elevated its craft. The cuvée Alexandrine, named after the vigneronne herself, originated in 2005 in response to inquiries from customers seeking premier and grand cru offerings. While the parcels are classified as village-level, Alexandrine Roy sought to produce a wine rivaling the finest crus of Gevrey. The secret lies in a meticulous blend of grapes from six privileged terroirs, emphasizing the selection of millerandage grapes. This meticulous process yields small, concentrated berries, resulting in a wine acclaimed for surpassing many premier crus in quality. With its aromas of red fruits, noble oak influence, and velvety texture underscored by powdery tannins, Cuvée Alexandrine stands as the crown jewel of Domaine Roy.

Rollin Père et Fils Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru 'Les Vergelesses' is a remarkable wine. This Pinot Noir comes from a gently sloping, east-facing vineyard planted in 1959. The light, well-drained clay-limestone soil lends a distinctive character to the grapes. Hand-harvested fruit undergoes meticulous sorting before gentle destemming and fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks. After a short maceration, the wine ages for 12-14 months in oak barrels (including 30% new wood). Natural malolactic fermentation adds complexity, and the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its natural character.
