Wine Description:
In contrast to Bordeaux, few Burgundy winemakers can boast ownership of a "château domaine." Domaine Génot-Boulanger is one of those fortunate exceptions, nestled in Meursault within the famed Côte de Beaune. This family-run estate oversees 22 hectares, spanning 92 diverse plots from Chambolle-Musigny to Mercurey. Manual harvesting and meticulous grape selection are paramount. The varietal Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines mature separately for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, with new oak varying from 20 to 40%, preserving the predominant fruit character. Today, Génot-Boulanger's red and white wines bask in international acclaim.

Wine Expert Note:

This wine is a fine example of a Puligny-Montrachet from the esteemed Domaine Génot-Boulanger. The Les Nosroyes vineyard, known for its limestone-rich soils, imparts a distinct character to this wine. On the nose, expect a bouquet of delicate floral notes, such as white flowers and honeysuckle, intertwined with hints of citrus fruits like lemon and grapefruit. These aromas are complemented by subtle oak nuances, showcasing the wine's careful barrel aging. The palate offers a harmonious balance between richness and freshness. The wine displays a medium to full body, with flavors of ripe stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, layered with zesty acidity. There is a lovely mineral undertone that adds complexity and length to the finish. The Domaine Génot-Boulanger Puligny-Montrachet Les Nosroyes is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but also has the potential to age gracefully. It pairs wonderfully with seafood dishes, particularly shellfish, as well as creamy poultry dishes.
