Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

This Bordeaux Supérieur presents a deep garnet hue, revealing a bouquet of ripe blackcurrant, dark plum, and subtle cedar, underscored by a whisper of graphite. The palate is medium-bodied, with a structured tannic framework that supports layers of cassis, crushed violet, and a hint of mocha. The oak influence is deftly integrated, providing a gentle spice that complements the wine's vibrant acidity and mineral undertones. The finish is long and polished, echoing the wine's harmonious balance and complexity. This is a quintessential Bordeaux, showcasing the elegance and depth typical of the region's superior offerings.

Second taste reveals a noticeable bitterness, which may be attributed to the malbec. Overall, the encounter is not in particular satisfying.

Perfect addition to any collection. A stonking Bordeaux, indeed. Let your guests tasting it without knowing what to expect. The 2010 vintage is still available. I prefer the oaked version. A wonderful winemaker, Stefaan, who delivers exceptional wines personally.

Fruit-forward wine with a gentle and easy-drinking profile, it pairs well with robust and savory dishes.

While some appreciate its smooth, easy-drinking nature, others find certain vintages bitter or lacking depth.
