Bartolomeo Borgogno founded the Borgogno winery in 1761. In 1848, the Military Intendancy of the House of Savoy chose the winery for the supply of the mess of the Sabaudo Army college, and in 1861, Borgogno Barolo was served at the celebration lunch for the unification of Italy. Later, in 1908, the 1886 Borgogno Barolo was served to Tsar Nicholas II Romanov at a banquet in his honor at Racconigi Castle. In 1967, the winery took the name Giacomo Borgogno & Figli. Following the death of Cesare Borgogno in 1968, management passed to his niece Ida and her future husband Franco Boschis, and the Farinetti family acquired Borgogno in 2008.

Conversion to organic farming began in 2016 without chemical fertilizers or weedkillers, using sustainable treatments. Winemaking features long spontaneous fermentations without selected yeasts in concrete vats, followed by long aging in large Slavonian oak barrels.
On VinoVoss, Borgogno has 1 wine in stock: 1 red.
