Produttori del Barbaresco

Produttori del Barbaresco is a cooperative in Barbaresco, founded in 1958 by 19 farmers guided by parish priest Don Fiorino Marengo. Riccardo Cravanzola and Lorenzo Viglino became its first two presidents. Construction of the winery at the foot of Barbaresco’s tower was completed in 1960.

Its more than 50 member growers own 120 hectares of Nebbiolo vineyards, and it vinifies only this grape. Traditional vinification combines long maceration with minimal grape handling and cellar intervention. Ageing takes place in large casks: about 20 months for Barbaresco DOCG and about 30 for Barbaresco Riserva. Its wines include Barbaresco, Langhe Nebbiolo from the youngest vineyards, and nine single-vineyard Riservas, produced only in vintages considered excellent throughout the area and released after four years.
