In 1971, Arnaldo Caprai, a textile entrepreneur who was later named Cavaliere del Lavoro for Agricultural Merits in 2002, purchased 42 hectares in Montefalco, including 4 already planted to vines at Tenuta Val Di Maggio. In 1986, Marco Caprai arrived to run the company. The winery also collaborates with consulting oenologist Michel Rolland. It grows native Umbrian varieties Sagrantino and Grechetto, alongside Sangiovese, Merlot, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon. Winemaking features the Vinification Intégrale method, where grapes are placed directly in barriques rotated daily. Sagrantino wines are aged for at least 22 months in French oak barriques, while Umbria Bianco IGT Cuvée Secrète ages for 6 months. In addition, the estate uses corks made from raw materials originating in Portugal and Sardinia, as well as Stelvin screw caps for selected wines. Its wines include Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG 25 Anni.
On VinoVoss, Arnaldo-Caprai has 4 wines in stock: 4 red. Their average rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 337 ratings.
