Wine Description:
Viña Cobos is the South American operation of star California winemaker Paul Hobbs. The Bramare Rebon Vineyard Malbec is a single vineyard wine sourced from the La Consulta sub-region of Mendoza. All of the grapes were sourced from the prestigious Rebon Vineyard, known for its exceptional high-altitude terroir that results in thicker grape skins and wines of immense color and structure. The winemaking process is meticulous, including a long cold-soaking period to extract maximum flavor and a very long year and a half in a mix of majority new, French, and American oak for a very complex profile. Whilst a powerful wine it has its elegant side with very polished tannins, and a long, elegant finish. This wine is well suited to those who enjoy the opulence of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon but desire to try a new grape variety. This wine was last made in 2017 but may still be found in-market and may be produced again in the future.

Wine Expert Note:

Viña Cobos Bramare Rebon Vineyard Malbec has an opaque purple color with a glowing magenta rim. The nose is immensely powerful with jammy blueberry and plum notes accompanied by a lifted violet expression. The palate is broad and full-bodied with very polished tannins and gentle acidity. The finish is very long with complex coconut and mocha nuance from toasted oak. This wine needs to be decanted before serving and is best when accompanied by robustly flavored food. Serve with Brisket and drink within 8 years.
