Venturini Valpolicella Classico 2019

Dry and complex wine with a floral floral notes and a medium-high acidity. The accents are driven by by touches of tobacco and leather, with a mild sweetness from the cranberry and pomegranate.

Straightforward, uncomplicated Valpolicella with a nose of dried kirsch, red cherry, and preserved fruits. On the palate, it's dry with a measured level of tartness and low in tannins. It's light-bodied and features underripe hints of red fruits, sour cherries. The tail is brief. It's a typical and simple Valpolicella, apt for those searching for a straightforward, uncomplicated red wine. It's an acceptable choice, but it doesn't significantly stand out or impress.

Decent wine, but not one I'd recommend for a discerning palate. It was selected by a restaurant's list, and its inclusion was largely arbitrary. It paired well with rabbit ragu, but its flavor profile was heavy and mouth-filling, with a prominent bass note that detracted from the wine's subtlety. It's a drink that's best suited for those who enjoy robust, full-bodied wines.
