Wine Description:
Peter Lauer Senior Fass 6 Riesling is a tribute to Grandfather Peter Lauer I. (1906-1991), who had a daily tradition of savoring a bottle of Riesling. Each year, he selected a barrel from the Ayler Kupp vineyard, aiming to create a wine that would delight all his guests, whether fans of dry or fruity wines. This wine, crafted by Peter and Florian Lauer, pays homage to his taste preferences. The grapes are sourced from Ayler Kupp's steep, south-west-facing slopes with slate soil. Harvested in mid-October, the whole grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation, and the wine rests on lees for three months, imparting a delicate smoothness. Fass 6, reminiscent of the grandfather's palate, is an everyday favorite, redolent with herbal, wild berry, and sesame notes, delivering a wonderfully engaging experience.
