Voss Expert4.0/5

Voss Expert tasting note

This Pét-Nat is alive and expressive, pouring a hazy, pale straw yellow. The nose is a delightful burst of zesty, fresh aromas—lemongrass, underripe pineapple, fresh lemon juice, and a distinct note of green apple skin. On the palate, it is light, energetic, and dry, with a frothy, mouth-tingling effervescence. The bright citrus and orchard fruit flavors are clean and direct, underscored by a yeasty, lees-driven complexity and a crisp, saline finish. It's a fun, uncomplicated, and incredibly refreshing sparkling wine.

From the socially-conscious and community-driven Lubanzi Wines, the 'Rainboat' Pét-Nat is a vibrant, artisanal sparkling wine from the Swartland region of South Africa. The brand is Fair for Life Certified, and a portion of its profits supports the Pebbles Project, a non-profit that provides health and educational resources to families living on South African wine farms. This Pétillant Naturel is crafted from sustainably-farmed Chenin Blanc. It is bottled before primary fermentation is complete, allowing the natural CO2 to create a gentle sparkle. The result is a raw, unfiltered, and expressive wine that is as committed to social equity as it is to quality.
