Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

This Alsatian Pinot Gris presents a luminous straw hue, revealing a bouquet of ripe pear, quince, and subtle honeysuckle, underscored by a whisper of smoky minerality. On the palate, it unfolds with a plush, almost oily texture, balanced by a vibrant acidity that elevates its stone fruit and ginger spice nuances. The mid-palate is richly layered, offering a harmonious interplay of sweetness and acidity, leading to a lingering finish marked by notes of almond and a hint of saline. Exemplifying the region's finesse, this wine is a benchmark for Pinot Gris, showcasing both elegance and depth.

Kuentz-Bas Pinot Gris originates from the Alsace region of France, known for its unique microclimate and diverse terroir. The vineyards benefit from the Vosges Mountains' rain shadow, ensuring a sunny and dry growing season that enhances grape ripeness. This wine is crafted in a dry style, with fermentation occurring in stainless steel tanks to preserve the varietal's natural fruit character. The Pinot Gris offers a balanced profile with notes of ripe pear and apricot, complemented by a subtle minerality. It is designed to be enjoyed young, showcasing fresh acidity and a clean finish.
