Wine Expert Note:

The Fèlsina Vin Santo del Chianti Classico unveils itself with a deep amber hue, hinting at its richly textured palate. On the nose, it offers an intoxicating bouquet of dried apricots, honey, toasted almonds, and a hint of spice. As you take a sip, the wine cascades over the palate with sumptuous flavors of candied fruits, toffee, and a touch of citrus zest. This lusciously sweet wine is perfectly balanced by a vibrant acidity, ensuring it never becomes cloying. Its finish is long, warm, and resonates with echoes of dried fruits and honeyed richness. Traditionally paired with cantucci (Tuscan almond biscuits), it can also be enjoyed with blue cheeses or simply savored on its own as a meditative drink. This Vin Santo stands as a testament to Fèlsina's unwavering commitment to maintaining and celebrating Tuscany's treasured wine legacies.

The Guicciardini family, one of Florence's oldest, has held a prominent role in the city's political, social, and economic life since 1200. Their history is intertwined with the Castello di Poppiano, a medieval fortress built around the year 1000 to defend Florence. A 1199 inheritance document confirms the castle has been in the Guicciardini family for at least nine centuries. Today, the estate is a key player in the DOCG "Chianti Colli Fiorentini." The "alberese" soils, clayey but rich in skeleton and well-drained, are ideal for producing quality wines. The winery is next to the castle, while the aging cellar with oak barrels and barriques is located underground, maintaining optimal natural temperatures. Since 2015, Castello di Poppiano also includes Belvedere-Campòli in Chianti Classico and Massi di Mandorlaia in the Maremma, within the Morellino di Scansano appellation.
