J. Christopher Cuveé Lunatique Chardonnay is produced in Oregon’s Northern Willamette Valley. The winery is owned by Ernst Loosen, of the Dr. Loosen estate in Germany. The Chardonnay is produced with fruit sourced from long-standing grower relationships from a handful of sustainably and dry farmed vineyards. The wine is fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral large cask with typically with no malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and acidity. A part of the cuvée was matured in a large, neutral oak cask to give it a bit more mid-palate texture, but not impart any oak taste to the wine.
