Wine Description:
Mee Godard is an Asian-American who studied winemaking in both the USA and France. A fan of the Beaujolais region, she took over the estate of a local winemaker who retired without an hier. Le Grand Cras is one of three Morgon climats that Godard farms. Her appraoch to viticulture is conventional with low level use of synthetics where possible. Vinification is about gentle extraction and the greation of ageworthy wines with structure from the use of whole bunches and maturation in old wood. The Grand Cras is black fruit with subtle peony lfit, and generous body with silkty tannins and a lean acidiy that blances the ripeness of the fruit. This is a great choice for those who seek astisinal-style Beaujolais.

Wine Expert Note:

The Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Grand Cras has a bold ruby color in the glass. On the nose, the Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Grand Cras offers enticing aromas of ripe black berries, such as black cherries and raspberries, along with floral notes of violet and peony petals. There is also a subtle hint of spice, adding complexity to the bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied structure and a silky texture balanced by lean acidity. The finish is moderate with a subtle granitic minerality. Pair the Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Grand Cras with grilled meats, such as pork or duck, as well as hearty mushroom dishes.
