Wine Description:
Domaine Labranche Laffont Madiran comes from vines averaging 40 years of age that produce naturally low yields and intensely flavored fruit. Harvest is manual and fermentation takes place using native yeast. Maturation takes place over 18 months in concrete vats to soften the characteristically muscular tannins coming from Tannat. Minimal sulfur additions are made to throughout the winemaking process. The resulting wine is known for its bold and robust character, with rich flavors of dark fruits, spices, and earthy undertones.

Château Ducasse Graves Rouge is owned by Jacques Perromat, the 6th generation winemaker, taking over the family's estate in 1983. The terroir of Beauregard Ducasse is unique and complex, situated on the highest part of the Graves appellation, allowing excellent maturity of the grapes. The exact blend varies each vintage but is typically dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Cabernet Franc that adds a floral lift and perfume. Grapes are manually harvested, fermented in stainless steel. The wines are aged mostly in stainless steel to preserve aromatics and freshness, but roughly one fifth is aged in barrel to add complexity.
