Fattoria di Petroio Chianti Classico is made from Sangiovese grapes sourced from the historic Chianti Classico region of Tuscany, Italy. The grapes are hand selected, destemmed and crushed. Following the alcoholic fermentation, the wine spends a period on lees around 14 months in large oak tonneaux and 10 months in cement and stainless steel. The range of aging vessels contribute different qualities to the final wine, with the large oak vessels helping to soften the tannins, whilst the steel and cement vats retain purity of aromas and fruit expression.
