Lucien Lardy is a devoted native son of Beaujolais. Lucien inherited his vines from his father and considers himself to be a custodian of the vines for the future generations of the region. His approach is Burgundian in style, with each plot vinified separately allowing Lucien to increase his understanding of his land, and to blend parcel for maximum benefit. His old vine Fleurie Cuvee Le Viver is made with semi-carbonic maceration. and is matured in old oak of varying sizes. Expect a medium bodied wine with a silken texture and refreshing acidity with perfumed notes of black cherry, raspberry and peony. This is a good alternative to high priced wines from northern Burgundy and a great wine for duck when in season.
