Nicolas Perrin Hermitage is a red wine produced by two scions of famous Rhone families. Nicolas Jaboulet of Domaine Jaboulet, noted for their famous wines from the northern Rhone, and the Perrin family of Chateau Beaucastel in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The wine is made from 100% Syrah grown in the lieu dits of Les Greffieux, Les Murets and Les Grandes Vignes on the famous hill of Hermitage. Expect a inky dark colour and a nose of blackberries, olives and black pepper. Whilst this is a structured with with firm tannins it can be consumed in youth on account of the concentyrated mid-palate fruit that brings the tannins into balance. Every Syrah drinker should try a Hermitage at least once and this one has fantastic pedigree.
