Wine Description:
The Christian Tschida Brutal is a rare and experimental gem, comprising just 10% of his already outstanding portfolio. This Pinot Noir hails from old vines in the prime location of Purbacher Eisner on the western shores of Lake Neusiedl, nestled in the Leithagebirge region. The Pinot vines root in soil dominated by shell limestone. After a selective harvest, the Pinot undergoes spontaneous maceration fermentation, with gentle and brief skin contact. Maturation takes place in neutral wood, emphasizing the wine's uniqueness, and it's bottled without filtration or fining. The name "Brutal" pays homage to the enduring friendship with Bar Brutal in Barcelona – a wine as exceptional as the bar itself.

Wine Expert Note:

In the glass, Tschida's Brutal Pinot Noir displays a beautiful cherry-red hue. Its reductive bouquet exudes notes of red berries, currant leaves, and an earthy mineral essence. On the palate, it is refreshing and exceptionally quaffable. A wine for the discerning drinker, living up to its bold name. The tannins are present but seamlessly integrate into a harmonious experience, avoiding any hindrance to enjoyment. With a bit of aeration and served at a moderate temperature, it transforms into an excellent choice for an evening of spirited discussions. Alternatively, when it comes to food pairing, try it with a veal loin accompanied by chanterelle dumplings.
