Château Pierre-Bise Clos de Coulaine Savennières is praised for its rich, layered profile with notes of honey, citrus, and minerals. While some appreciate its balanced acidity and complex flavors, others find certain vintages overly oxidized or too strong in specific flavors like orange. The wine pairs well with rich foods, offering a dry, clean finish and a lingering aftertaste.
This Savennières exemplifies the region's hallmark precision and depth. The wine presents a luminous straw hue, with a bouquet that unfurls layers of quince, honeysuckle, and a subtle hint of wet stone minerality. On the palate, it is both expansive and focused, with a taut structure underscored by vibrant acidity. The flavors of ripe pear and chamomile are seamlessly integrated, leading to a lingering finish marked by a whisper of almond skin. This is a quintessential expression of Chenin Blanc, showcasing the potential for complexity and longevity inherent in the terroir of Savennières.
