Wine Description:
Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac is a prestigious Premier Grand Cru Classé estate located in the renowned Pauillac appellation in Bordeaux, France. Its exceptional Grand Vin is produced from a blend that is usually at least 75% Cabernet Sauvignon supported by Merlot and occasionally Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot depending on the vintage. Mouton Rothschild was the first estate in Bordeaux to bottle their own wines, such is their commitment to quality including long aging in a high proportion of new, French, oak barrels to add complexity and begin the process of softening the immense tannic structure. The resulting wine is known for its opulence, elegance, and rich flavors, with notes of blackcurrant, cedar, and tobacco. The wine is also famous for its artist-designed labels which have changed every vintage since 1945. Try this wine to see for yourself why its promotion to Premier Grand Cru Classé remains the only change ever made within the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.
