The initial suggestions of brown and brick dust evoke a sense of age, at the same time the bright cherry and rose subtle flavors suggest a youthful vitality. The color has darkened, but the nose remains remarkably intact, with soft notes of spice and paraffin. As the wine has matured, it has become increasingly dense and hot, with a spicy and sulfurous trail that hangs long after the glass is empty.
