Aurelius

Aurelius is a aromatic white variety that produce full bodied wines.

Aurelius grapes have lemon-green colour. The wine are usually aromatic and sometimes with hints of sweet spices. With late harvest, it could achieve high sugar level, full-bodied and flavours of quince, orange blossoms and honey.

Aurelius is predominantly grown in Czech Republic. The Aurelius grape are suitable for late harvesting, to reach higher sugar level. Aurelius wines pair well with a variety of dishes, from roasted meats to grilled vegetables. The intense fruit aromas and soft tannins make the wines perfect for pairing with foods such as pork, lamb, chicken and grilled vegetables.

The Aurelius grape varietyis a crossing between Neuburger and Riesling.

It was officially recognized in 1983 by the Czech register of varieties.
