Valle Reale

Valle Reale is a wine producer near Popoli and Capestrano, founded in 1998 by the Pizzolo family. That year, the family decided to restore an old vineyard of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo on its property.

This historic vineyard, dating to 1960 and cultivated in Abruzzo arbours, was brought back into production and became the company’s first cru, San Calisto. The vineyards cover 46 hectares and grow along a southeast-facing plain 350 metres above sea level, where the sun rises over the Majella and Morrone mountains. The neighbouring towns frame the setting: Popoli lies at the beginning of the Peligna Valley, while Capestrano overlooks the Plain of Ofena.
