Illuminati is a winery in Controguerra, Abruzzo, with its origins in “Fattoria Nicò”. The family succession passed from Nicola to Lorenzo and then Dino, Nicola’s grandson, who moved from Ripatransone to Controguerra in 1960 and bought a farmhouse and five hectares in Zanna. Stefano followed Dino, joined by his brother Lorenzo and son Nicola.

The estate directly cultivates and manages 110 hectares of vineyards, growing Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Passerina, Pecorino and Verdicchio. Its hills sit at 320 metres, sheltered from cold northerly winds by the Gran Sasso, while the Adriatic moderates temperatures. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, after which the wines move into concrete tanks and then Slavonian oak barrels and barriques. Its wines include Controguerra DOC and Colline Teramane Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG.
On VinoVoss, Illuminati has 2 wines in stock: 1 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 3.6 out of 5 from 341 ratings.
