Simonsig released its first wine, a Chenin Blanc (Steen), in 1968, alongside a Riesling and a Clairette blanche, followed by a Pinotage in 1970. In 1971, Frans Malan produced South Africa's first bottle-fermented sparkling wine, Kaapse Vonkel.

Located in Stellenbosch, its vineyards cover 210 hectares with elevations ranging from 50m to 280m, where soils predominantly consist of sandstone, granite, and shale, along with select sites of koffie klip and red Hutton soils. Grapes grown include Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Vineyard practices include hand pruning using the Simonit & Sirch method, natural pest control with predator bugs, mechanical weed management, and hand-harvesting all estate-grown grapes. Its wines include Cuveé Royale, Langbult Steen, Tiara, and Redhill Pinotage.
On VinoVoss, Simonsig has 1 wine in stock: 1 white. Their average rating is 3.7 out of 5 from 268 ratings.
