Riecine was founded in 1971 by John Dunkley and his wife, Palmina Abbagnano. The estate's first Chianti Classico vintage was 1973, released onto the market in 1975. In 1991, John and Palmina hired Sean O'Callaghan as an intern, who became the in-house winemaker. Following the founders' deaths, ownership passed to the Baumann family of New York in 1998, and Lana Frank became the owner in December 2011. In July 2024, Alessandro Campatelli acquired the shares from Lana Frank to become the owner of Riecine, supported by Carlo Ferrini as an external consultant.

Riecine farms vineyards under certified organic management by ICEA. The vineyards are fully grassed over with strictly mechanical weed control. Sites include Vertine, Carlo, planted with Sangiovese and Mammolo, and Teodoro and La Casina, planted with Sangiovese. Spontaneous fermentations occur without added clarifiers or chemical stabilizers, and the winery uses twelve unglazed concrete vats designed by Nomblot. Its wines include Chianti Classico, La Gioia, Il TreSette, and Riecine di Riecine.
On VinoVoss, Riecine has 3 wines in stock: 3 red. Their average rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 84 ratings.
