Nicolò Incisa serves as Honorary President of Tenuta San Guido. Earlier, Mario Incisa della Rocchetta moved to Maremma in the 1940s after marrying Clarice della Gherardesca in 1930. In 1944, Mario Incisa planted the first Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard of just over one hectare at around 400 meters altitude in Castiglioncello di Bolgheri. Following his 1959 economics degree in Geneva, Nicolò Incisa joined his father Mario in managing the family estate. The estate encompasses 2,500 hectares in Maremma, stretching 13 kilometers from the hills to the sea, where the partially clay soils lie between 60 and 400 meters above sea level with west to south-west exposure. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, early plantings included Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, and white varieties. Massal selection focusing exclusively on Cabernet Sauvignon occurred between 1960 and 1968. Its wines include Sassicaia, which originated at Castiglioncello di Bolgheri, remained private for family and friends from 1945 to 1967, and debuted commercially with the 1968 vintage.
On VinoVoss, Tenuta San Guido has 2 wines in stock: 2 red. Their average rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 1,746 ratings.
