Tenute Neirano was founded by Giacomo Sperone together with his sons Paolo and Antonio, and Antonio Sperone is the founding oenologist. The estate had its first harvest and first vinification marked by Moscato d'Asti in 1983. In 1985, the purchase of land and vineyards of Barbera, Dolcetto, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Nero, Cortese, Moscato, and Brachetto was completed. Fifth-generation family members Francesca and Andrea Sperone joined the business in 2007. In 2019, the estate conducted its first harvest of estate-grown Nebbiolo.

Located in Casalotto di Mombaruzzo, the winery holds International Food Standard certification and was recognized and certified by Regione Piemonte in 2015 for sustainable natural resource management. The grapes grown are Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Nero, Cortese, Moscato, and Brachetto. Winemaking uses selected yeasts, temperature-controlled fermentation, and aging in steel or oak casks. Its wines include Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG, Piemonte DOC Pinot Nero, Moscato d’Asti DOCG, and Gavi DOCG.
