Mulderbosch was founded in 1989 by Larry Jacobs and Mike Dobrovic. The maiden vintage of Mulderbosch was 1992. Head winemaker Henry Kotzé took over running the cellar in mid-2020.

Soils at Mulderbosch range from Malmesbury shale and Table Mountain sandstone to sandy duplex and decomposed granite. Bush-vine Chenin Blanc is grown alongside vertical shoot positioning trellising. No herbicides are used on the farm, and pests are controlled partly through flowering cover crops. Mulderbosch applies Simonit & Sirch low-intervention pruning methods, and uses precision farming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data to protect natural assets, increase biodiversity, and save water and energy. Mulderbosch is IPW and WIETA accredited. The estate operates a solar-powered cellar with vessels ranging from small barriques to large foudres and stainless-steel tanks. All Mulderbosch wines are vegan-friendly.
