Mauro Veglio is a wine producer in the Langhe whose origins date to the mid-20th century, when farmer Angelo Veglio purchased his first vineyard in Gattera, La Morra. Mauro took over the winery at a young age following his father’s illness and recognised the importance of focusing on Barolo. In 1987, he married Daniela.

The producer cultivates about 19 hectares of vineyards across La Morra, Monforte, Barolo and Serralunga. It practises sustainable organic farming without herbicides or synthetic fertilisers, and grows cover crops between rows to combat erosion and encourage beneficial insects. In the cellar, medium-length macerations gently extract aromas, and second- and third-fill French oak barriques are used for ageing. Its wines include Barolo Paiagallo and Barolo del comune di Serralunga, both aged in large barrels.
