Documents from 1635 attest to the exchange of white grape vine plots at the estate of Domaine de la Foliette. In 1926, Joseph Brosseau settled at la Foliette, which then comprised a bourgeois residence and 14 hectares of vineyards, and he founded Domaine de la Foliette in 1928. Denis Brosseau, grandson of founder Joseph Brosseau, joined the family estate in 1988.

In 2021, the estate comprised 40 hectares located in La Haye-Fouassière, Haute-Goulaine, and Vertou, and all estate vines come from their own vine nursery. Farming practices feature short pruning and low yields, accompanied by Terra Vitis certification and an organic conversion starting in 2019. Its wines include L'Insolite, which is vinified without sulfur.
