Celler Piñol

Celler Piñol is a family winery in Batea, in D.O. Terra Alta. The Piñol family's great-grandfather was a winegrower and a precursor of the family project. Juanjo Galcerà Piñol is the winery's director and winemaker.

The vines grow in clay-limestone soils low in organic matter, with sustainable cultivation excluding pesticides and herbicides. The winery uses organic grapes, including native varieties Cariñena, Garnacha Tinta, Garnacha Blanca and Morenillo. Winemaking involves minimal intervention, and the entire range is vegan-friendly. Its wines include L'Avi Arrufí Blanc and Ànima de l'Avi Arrufí. The latter's production combines stainless steel tanks with ageing divided between a concrete egg and a granite egg.
