Cavallotto is a wine estate on Bricco Boschis hill in Castiglione Falletto, established in 1928 by Giacomo Cavallotto. In 1948, Olivio Cavallotto put the first Barolo Cavallotto label on a bottle. In 1989, the family purchased 60% of the Vignolo cru. Laura, Giuseppe and Alfio Cavallotto were born and raised on Bricco Boschis; brothers Giuseppe and Alfio are winemakers.

On Bricco Boschis, the vines grow in soils of calcareous marl and sand. The estate farms 25 contiguous hectares organically, with 17 planted to Nebbiolo for Barolo and others to Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay and Grignolino. Only the estate’s own grapes enter the cellar, where natural fermentation takes place in horizontal steel tanks and maceration uses a semi-submerged cap. Its wines include Barolo, Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo.
On VinoVoss, Cavallotto has 6 wines in stock: 6 red. Their average rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 250 ratings. Cavallotto is in the top 10% of the 125 rated Piemonte wineries on VinoVoss.
