Founded in 1870, Ca’ del Baio began when Giuseppe Grasso purchased the Cascina Vallegranda farmhouse and land in Treiso di Barbaresco. The family winery is operated by Giulio and Luciana Grasso, together with their daughters Paola, Valentina, and Federica. In 1921, Luigi Grasso planted the first grafted vines on his farm in Treiso, harvesting the first grapes three years later. In 1955, Ernesto Grasso married Fiorentina, whose family owned land in the Asili and Pora crus. In 2016, Giulio Grasso was named Viticulturist of the Year by Gambero Rosso.

The 31-hectare estate is located in Treiso in the Langhe area, with properties also in Barbaresco and Trezzo Tinella. Vineyards include Vallegrande and Marcarini in Treiso, alongside 2.3 hectares of Nebbiolo in the Asili MGA and 0.3 hectares in the Pora cru in Barbaresco. Ca' del Baio grows Moscato, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling, Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto. All wines are single-variety and produced exclusively from estate-grown grapes. Its wines include Barbaresco DOCG Asili Riserva and Barbaresco Pora, which has an annual production of 800 bottles.
