Bricco dei Guazzi’s first owner was jurist and writer Stefano Guazzo, who had Villa del Bel Riposo built in the second half of the 16th century, in 1585, in honor of his wife Francesca. Olivola later passed to the Counts of Candiani, including diplomat and royal fleet admiral Camillo Candiani.

The estate is located in the medieval village of Olivola and spans 35 hectares of vineyards on the hills near Casale Monferrato. Vineyards are planted on marly-calcareous soil, and the vine training systems used are Guyot and spur-pruned cordon. Grapes grown on the estate are Barbera, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Albarossa, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Beneath the villa, the first cellar dug into tuff dates back to the 16th century, and the vaulted cellar was built in the 1700s. Its wines include Barbera, Albarossa, and Presidenta.
