Bosco was founded in 1897 by Giovanni Bosco, accompanied by his wife Giulia Consorte. In 1968, their Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC was the first wine from Abruzzo exported to the USA. In 1979, writer Mario Soldati visited the winery when it was located in Colli Innamorati in Pescara. In 1980, the winery relocated to the hills of Nocciano and built underground tunnels for aging. In 1990, Giovanni's children Nestore and Stefania joined the management of the winery. In 1996, artist Pietro Cascella designed the Pan label depicting the Greek god Pan. The company is led by Nestore and Stefania along with their children. The winery is located in Nocciano, in the province of Pescara. The company has been certified organic since 2018. Its underground cellars contain large Slavonian oak casks and small barriques, and its wines include Montepulciano.
