Ontañón Rioja Reserva 2019

Ontañón Rioja Reserva is praised for its rich, full-bodied character with a smooth, velvety texture. Common flavors include cherry, plum, vanilla, and forest floor, with a well-balanced oak influence. While some find it complex and harmonious, others note a lack of depth in older vintages. The wine's tannins are generally smooth, contributing to a satisfying finish, making it a popular choice for pairing with hearty dishes.

The Ontañón Rioja Reserva is a sophisticated and well-crafted wine from the renowned Rioja region in Spain. On the nose, this wine presents an enticing bouquet of ripe red berries, such as cherries and raspberries, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla, forest floor, and spice. These aromas are a result of the careful aging process in oak barrels, which imparts complexity and depth to the wine. The palate is equally impressive, with a medium to full body and velvety tannins that provide a smooth and elegant mouthfeel. The flavors of red fruit continue to shine, complemented by notes of cedar, leather, and a touch of earthiness. The well-integrated oak adds a layer of richness and a lingering finish. Ontañón Rioja Reserva is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but it also has the potential to age gracefully for several more years. Its structure and complexity make it a versatile companion to a wide range of dishes, including roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses.
