Lovingston Josie's Knoll Rotunda Red 2021

Lovingston Josie's Knoll Rotunda Red is noted for its balanced blend of Merlot, Pinotage, and Cabernet Franc, offering a polished, elegant experience with a mild to medium body. While some appreciate its vibrant, spicy kick and mineral undertones, others find it decent but unremarkable. Common flavors include black cherries, raspberry, and blackberry cassis, with a refreshing finish.

This deep garnet-hued wine opens with an aromatic bouquet of ripe blackberries, cassis, and subtle hints of graphite, underscored by a whisper of cedar and forest floor leaf. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious blend of plush, velvety tannins and vibrant acidity, creating a well-structured framework. The mid-palate is layered with flavors of dark chocolate, plum, and a touch of black pepper, leading to a long, elegant finish with a mineral edge. This Rotunda Red exemplifies the finesse and depth characteristic of Virginia's burgeoning wine scene, offering both immediate appeal and potential for further aging.
