Delightful wine with undertones of berries and plums, it's a impressive accompaniment to its own.

Mid-light ruby with thin legs, demonstrating a sweet and fruity mid-body experience. The damsons and sweet berries add a satisfying dimension, while the low to mid tannins provide a round finish. The aftertaste is well-balanced and mid-length, with a lingering sweetness. A inviting and accessible wine, suitable for everyday consumption.

What the web is saying

This Nero d'Avola offers rich dark fruit flavors and smooth tannins, praised for its good value and balanced structure. While some highlight its flinty complexity and versatility with food pairings, others note a lack of depth and short finish. Reviews consistently mention ripe plum, cherry, and berry notes, though opinions vary on its complexity and aging potential.

Voss Experts4.4

Il Meridione Nero d'Avola presents a deep ruby hue, indicative of its robust character. The bouquet unfolds with layers of ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint of dried herbs, underscored by a subtle earthiness. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, showcasing a harmonious balance between its vibrant acidity and velvety tannins. Flavors of dark fruit are interwoven with notes of licorice and a whisper of cocoa, leading to a lingering, mineral-tinged finish. This wine exemplifies the quintessential Sicilian style, offering both complexity and approachability, ideal for pairing with hearty Mediterranean cuisine.
