Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

A luminous straw hue introduces this exemplary expression of Austrian Grüner Veltliner. The nose is a sophisticated tapestry of white pepper, ripe pear, and subtle hints of fennel, underscored by a mineral edge that speaks to its terroir. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious blend of vibrant acidity and a creamy texture, offering flavors of green apple and a whisper of honeyed citrus. The finish is long and precise, with a saline minerality that lingers, marking this wine as a benchmark for the varietal, showcasing both elegance and depth.

Hugl Wimmer Ried Alte Geringen is crafted from grapes grown in the Niederösterreich region of Austria, known for its cool climate and diverse terroir. The vineyard's old vines contribute to the wine's depth and complexity. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh, vibrant fruit character. This dry wine showcases a balance of crisp acidity and mineral notes, making it an excellent representation of the region's style. Ideal for those who appreciate a structured and refreshing white wine, it pairs well with a variety of dishes, enhancing its versatility.
